A bus driver must be patient and level headed in order to deal directly with members of the public and cope with a position that can in some ways be monotonous. They must transport passengers to and from destinations on a predefined route. A driver must also obviously be a careful and skilled driver who is able to traverse heavy traffic and make sure the passengers arrive safely
Bus drivers need to obtain a Passenger Carrying Vehicle license (PCV) after filling out a D2 application form and D4 medical form from the DVLA. Training usually takes place at specialist schools where students will be supervised by an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
There are no formal qualifications needed to become a bus driver other than a clean license and decent high school education. The average salary for a bus driver in the UK varies depending on the region but is typically about £20,000 per year.
Bus drivers are required to drive buses in order to transport passengers from one place to another. They are responsible for the safety and comfort of their clients while they travel on bus.
