Credit Controller

When money is owed to a company, a credit controller manages these debts. This position is common in financial organisations and companies that sell services and goods. A credit controller can work in a public capacity with consumers or focus on commercial dealings with businesses.
The primary task of this person is to look at a customer’s credit ratings and then decide whether they are eligible for credit from the company. The controller then establishes the terms and conditions for each loan and keeps track of customer payments. When a customer does not make a payment or defaults on a loan, this employee initiates legal proceedings against the debtor.
Most the time is spent in the office, with occasional trips to visit a client or go to court. Most credit controllers have a degree in business, finance or accounting. Banking experience is considered valuable, as are good communication and mathematical skills
Controllers are often promoted from within a firm, beginning as a junior and moving steadily upwards towards a managerial position. The average salary is £21,000.
