Editor

An editor is someone who reviews material and then alters the piece by condensing, correcting errors or rearranging its organisation so that it is suitable for presentation. Within the field of advertising and public relations, a person in this role may be responsible for written, design, or video material
An editor must have an excellent grasp of English language, including an extensive knowledge of English grammatical laws. In addition, sound computing skills are a prerequisite, along with excellent communication, collaboration and organisation skills. Most people in this role work in team environments
A bachelor’s degree in journalism or English language is a must, and any experience in editing, or courses taken, will be an advantage when applying for the position. Editors earn a salary of about £20,000 to £25,000 per year, but this can increase according to years’ experience or even company of employment. Basic wages are higher in the central London area than in other parts of the UK.
