An Events Manager needs to have excellent coordination skills as they are responsible for everything to do with the event, including the service of food, staff training, the set up of the room, menu and entertainment (if applicable)
They will also have to work closely with the guests to make sure that everything is to their satisfaction, not just in terms of sticking to an agreed upon brief, but also making sure any last-minute extras are taken care of. The happiness of the client is the responsibility of the Events manager.
Some events may well be very elaborate affairs, so creativity is a very useful trait for this role. The manger will be working closely with a large team of people, so good interpersonal skills are essential
The role also requires that you provide the highest possible level of customer service, as the satisfaction of the guests is the number-one priority. Because it involves a high level of commitment, salaries are usually competitive and a management or business degree is helpful.

Description

Managing the promotional, social and business aspects of an event is the job of an Events Manager. These professionals see to every aspect and detail that ensures an event is successful. This may include hiring staff, speaking with agents, overseeing the delivery of equipment and sampling food. Their job requires them to manage multiple tasks at a time and often delegating to junior assistants.
The hours they work are dependent on their current project. Some have flexible hours while others have a nine to five, overtime schedule. The salary is dependent on the industry, employer and experience. Those hired full time, they may receive benefits packages.
An Events Manager usually performs many of the following tasks:
