Legal Administrator

Legal administrators have the responsibility of running the business operations of a legal firm by making sure that the office functions smoothly on a day to day basis. The administrator is in charge of identifying ways of making a practice run more smoothly, looking after the finances, coming up with new marketing strategies and keeping the partners abreast of any relevant developments
Although a legal administrator is likely to have training and experience in areas such as marketing, human resources and business administration, it is important that they also have a reasonable grounding in legal matters. The job holder takes the pressure off the lawyers working in an office by allowing them to get on with the business of dealing with clients rather than spending time on time consuming tasks not necessarily related to the law
Good communication skills are needed as the job involves dealing with a variety of clients as well as the firm’s consultants. Excellent attention to detail is also required as clients’ paperwork must always be up to date. An average salary is £21,000 per year.
