Legal Cashier

Legal cashiers play a key role in the financial management of accounts. They typically work for courts and law firms, carrying out a wide range of monetary duties, including bookkeeping, daily bank reconciliations, posting receipts, making cheque payments and billing and transfers
As much of the job involves working with numbers, legal cashiers must be careful, methodical workers with an eye for detail and an aptitude for figures. Accurate data entry skills and knowledge of spreadsheets are important, as are the abilities to prioritise and work well under pressure during busy times. Ideal candidates must have good communication skills and be able to fit into a team environment
Experience is more important than formal academic qualifications for this type of work, although good GCSE passes, including in mathematics, are often minimum requirements. Applicants can increase their chances of gaining employment in this area by having a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business. Salaries start at around £16,000 per annum and may rise to around £35,000 with experience.
