Internal Communications officers or managers are required to do these tasks by using several channels and methods including brief notes, newsletters, and other sources. They can work for any type of business such as commercial companies, local authorities, government departments, charities, among others.

An Internal Communications officer usually performs many of the following tasks:
• Encouraging communication inside a company.
• Managing events and seminars.
• Writing and sending e-mails.
• Working along with colleagues of the same company.
• Devising ways to keep workers up to date about company matters.

Some employers require degrees related to public relations, business administration, media studies, and other related qualifications. One recommendation is to have a qualification from The Chartered Institute of Public Relations or The Chartered Institute of Marketing.
