Marketing Analyst

Professionals known as a marketing analyst are key players in much of the decision-making process for manufacturing firms, service-based businesses and even in public sector organisations. This professional uses his or her skills, knowledge and statistical tools to thoroughly examine marketplace data and aid the business with decision making in regards to new and existing products. These individuals are often referred to as market research analysts
The role typically involves frequent use of statistical software and mathematical tools for analysing market data, as well as assisting with research itself, creating reports and coordinating with marketing, financial and company heads. Applicants should be equipped with at least a Bachelors certificate, as well as excellent communication, writing, teamworking and analytical skills.
In the United Kingdom, this position can fetch anywhere from around £20,000 per annum for fresh graduates to more than £40,000 for experienced analysts working in large corporations. Overall, the national average for the post is in the neighbourhood of £30,000 per annum, though London-based professionals typically see figures 5-15 per cent higher.
