Security Officer

Essential to the management of any registered business is the safety officer. These professionals must have an excellent awareness of their working environment, in order to provide safety to employees, as well as anyone else visiting the workplace. The safety officer promotes health and safety in the workplace, by organising training and attending meetings about health and safety
Those working in this role will regularly conduct inspections of their workplace. This way, they can identify possible dangers and prevent any accidents well before they happen. Those working in industrial environments should also be physically-fit, so that they can carry out the job satisfactorily. Given the position’s high level of responsibility, the officer should also be thorough, with a keen eye for detail
Safety officers tend to study for NVQ’s in a range of health and safety disciplines. These may include risk management, occupational health and safety practice, as well as construction safety. The average salary for this position is £32,500, but some experienced officers do earn up to £50,000.
