Applicants need a qualifying law degree and other degree in another subject, with a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (one year), a degree or a senior status law degree (two years). Another requirement in these countries is to have a training to become a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.

In the case of Scotland, it is necessary to have a degree in Scottish law. Candidates need five H grades, including English subject. Another requirement is to have a degree in other subject and then take a graduate law degree of two or three years. It is also required to have five H grades or a Higher National Diploma in legal studies.
