Family Support

One of the key roles in the position of family support worker is helping families in need by means of regular visitations, evaluations, education and emotional support. The primary goal of the family support worker is to help families overcome their problems and become more stable, therefore limiting the need for the intervention of child services
One of the most important attributes for a job as a family support worker is the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and children. Great teamwork skills, excellent listening skills, impeccable time management and organisational ability, flexibility and an understanding of child development requirements are all necessary for success in this position
Salaries for entry-level employees usually vary between £17,000 and £20,000 per annum, with the basic salary increasing with experience and time served. Managers in this position usually earn between £33,000 and £40,000. A degree or advanced qualification in child services or professional child support is required by most employers.
