People working as fundraisers are essential to the livelihood of charities, non-profit and other public-sector organisations. These professionals work with regular donors, members of the public and commercial organisations to raise money for his or her employer and its cause
Those working in this post must have outstanding interpersonal and networking skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of or experience working directly with the cause he or she is promoting. In addition to regular communication with current and potential donors, the post involves developing promotional/awareness activities, organising and executing presentations and various public relations duties. Significant time is also often spent performing research in regards to donor targets, causes and performance
The average salary for a fundraiser working in the United Kingdom is £21,000 per year, however figures can vary from around £15,000 per year to about as much as £30,000 per year, with the latter typically being paid to persons working and living in London. Many charity fundraisers working on the street are paid around £15 an hour, with bonuses for each person who signs up.
