Head Teacher

An inspirational head teacher with the drive and ambition to want what is best for students is the key to a school’s progression and scholastic achievements. A charismatic educator has clear insights and is able to motivate staff and students to strive for high standards.
Head teachers in the UK are expected to lead by example as both manager and educator. Individuals need to have good organisational skills and ensure that department heads implement the school’s curriculum to ensure that pupils attain their full potential. Incumbents are also responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of lessons and students’ progress.
Successful applicants will have undergraduate degrees, a postgraduate certificate in education and the national professional qualification for headship or its equivalent. Individuals also need a minimum of five years teaching experience in the classroom
Average salaries for this position in the UK are £40,000, but this can vary depending on the candidate’s experience and the location of the school. Some schools also offer performance-related bonuses.
