Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for:
- Managing a finance team of four, supporting their development and ensuring effective day-to-day operations
- Leading the month-end close process, ensuring key deadlines are met
- Reviewing internal processes and suggesting improvements to policies, procedures and controls
- Overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts and managing the external audit
- Preparing VAT returns and managing cashflow, tax and banking responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate account reconciliations for all key balance sheet and P&L accounts
What you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as Financial Controller / Finance Director / Finance Manager / Head of Finance / Senior Technical Accountant / Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant
- To be a qualified accountant – ACA / ACCA / CIMA
- A strong technical accounting background, ideally with audit experience
- To be a confident team leader, able to work at pace and adapt to change
- Proficiency in Excel (intermediate) and familiarity with Sage 200 or similar systems
