Mental health support
Only recently I discovered that I love helping others, and especially people with mental health issues. I’d like to work in this field, but the information I find can be a bit contradictory at times. Could it be that there’s no requirement for formal training to become a mental health support worker?

As with many other fields, it depends on the particular role. Some do not need formal training, though the candidate is expected to be literate and numerate. Having some prior experience in the field of care is always a plus. At times employers may ask for GCSE or some qualification related with the field of healthcare.18-Nov-2016

Thank you Melissa. Can you get work in public and/or private institutions with the requirements you say, or only for individual private patients?22-Nov-2016

Of course, you can officially work for institutions. Again, like everywhere else, the quality, formation and experience of the other applicants will determine the value of your candidacy every time.22-Nov-2016
