Pharmacy Manager

Pharmacy managers not only direct and supervise other pharmacy employees, but constantly search for new ways to improve the operations of their pharmacies. These highly qualified professionals have the responsibility of making sure their pharmacies run as efficiently as possible on a day to day basis
Both small and large independent pharmacies employ these managers, as do branches of large high street pharmacy chains and chains of supermarkets whose amenities include pharmacies. Growing numbers of these professionals have become self employed, but establishing an independent pharmacy business can be a lengthy and costly endeavour
Hospitals also employ pharmacy managers who work under other hospital administrative officials. Consulting with doctors and other healthcare professionals as well as mixing, compounding, and manufacturing various drugs are some of the additional responsibilities of hospital pharmacy technicians.
A four year pharmacy degree, followed by at least several years of work as a technician are the main requirements for this position, which pays between £40,000 and £50,000 a year.
