How to get one
I’d like to do an apprenticeship in event management, but I’m not sure how to go about it. Could someone help, please?

Have you trained as an event manager? I’m asking because school often have a range of options for their students. If you finished a while ago or have no formal training, my advice is that you try to contact a company in the sector and offer your services, starting from a basic position and then try to work your way up. This, is you’re good for the job, tends to work.20-Dec-2017

Thank you Tanya. I have no formal training…this is my problem… What you say makes sense to me, but I still don’t know where to start. Who do I contact? How do I go about this?20-Dec-2017

Personally, I’d research my area for recurrent events where they probably need extra help on a yearly basis, there are also many events that are seasonal. Aim at those too. I think that punctual or seasonal events are a great way to start as you can give your all without fear of being wrecked immediately after –when supposedly you’d have other events- Not that this is an ideal thing for too long, but as a starting point I think it’s ideal and you get plenty of experience.20-Dec-2017

London is definitely a place where you could do this… Are you far from it?22-Dec-2017

I’m in Musselburgh, Edinburgh is around the corner, I’d say I should be able to get something there. I’ll try … thanks!22-Dec-2017
