Question 1

Animal related jobs I've been in contact with animals all my life and I relate really well with them. Not just cats and dogs, and farm animals but also horses and ponies and prey birds. I've learned that animals can be used therapeutically and was wondering if anybody has experience in that field and could help me find my way in.

If you're interested in animal assisted therapy, you will often be required to go through training/certification to fit their specific needs.
I think that even as a volunteer, you'll be required to take some course or other. There are plenty out there. You're bound to have some around your area.

I actually started as an apprentice, basically giving support to the professional staff. With time I gradually trained and I'm now fully qualified and with loads of experience. What's more, I got a chance to try it out, before making the final decision to get training.
