It often depends on the specific job opening. Sometimes qualifications that show knowledge in security services such as SIA are referred to as a plus, on other occasions as a must. What you must bear in mind is that although this job is often seen as a really simple job, reality is not really the case. Some positions, for example in education centres, hospitals, airports or official institutions, require a lot of common sense, attention to detail, capacity to think on your feet when under stress, and discretion. You must be observant, have a good ability for concentration and be able to split your attention in order to monitor de activity on different monitors at the same time.
