Deputy Nursery Managers assist with nursery management and report to the nursery manager on a regular basis. Deputies will also be expected to stand in for managers during absences caused by sickness or holidays. The role involves general management and supervision of staff as well as overseeing the financial budget and ensuring legal requirements are met as well as working alongside external agencies
Vital skills are previous experience in delivering quality childcare services and familiarity with the Children’s Act 1989 as well as other updated standards of care. Experience of staff management in a relatively senior position, record-keeping skills and report writing are important aspects of the job, as is a good understanding of relevant computer software applications
The average salary for this role is £16,000 per year. The successful applicant is required to have completed NVQ level 3 or the BTEC national diploma. Applicants should b able to demonstrate their team management abilities and be able to work autonomously and flexibly while prioritising the workload. All staff working with children must now undergo a criminal records check.
