  • Are graphic designers well paid? I love graphic design and I think I’m very good at it, but I’m not sure whether the job really pays well. I’m 23 and still living at home! I need a job that can pay for my accommodation and my regular expenses. Can anybody advise?

Relax, it does. It’ll always depend on experience and skills, but the pay is good. As a starter you get +15,5k and can get up to 50k if you’re a senior designer. Not bad!

  • Are graphic designers in demand? Mad about graphic design. I’d love to get an apprenticeship now that I’m half way through my studies. Problem is that my family are trying to convince me to give it up as they believe there’s no future in this profession. They’ve told me so many times that I’m beginning to doubt. My professors insist that there’s a VERY good future for professionals in graphic design. Has anybody got more practical experience of what the market is like out there?

    • Ashley:
Your professors are right. Graphic designers are one of the most sought after professionals thanks to the digital market. In fact we’re among the Top 5 most in demand professionals. If you’re reasonably good you won’t find yourself without a job as soon as you finish your degree and once you have a bit of experience you’ll definitely be able to find a stable well paid job.

Thank you Ashley, this is so encouraging! I was beginning to consider giving up on it…
        • Ashley:
An apprenticeship is something I never did and I regret it now, as it definitely gives you a head start. My advice is that you apply for one straight away! Best!
