All persons working in this field in the UK need to complete City and Guilds national vocational qualifications, levels two and three (mechanical engineering services – domestic plumbing). Training is on offer from numerous local and private colleges and an apprenticeship is an ideal form of training
Salaries for persons working as a plumber in the United Kingdom are closely correlated with years of experience. Figures on the lower end of the spectrum begin at around £13,000 per annum whilst highly experienced individuals typically earn between £20,000 and £25,000 per annum.

One requirement that potential Plumbers must be aware of is that, they cannot be colour blind. There are restrictions and vision assessments administered to check for this. There are also several associations that offer membership to Plumbers. They are:
