Schools, day-care centres, private nurseries and private households are all well-known employers in the childcare field. While private households tend to employ nannies, other providers employ nursery nurses in a part-time or full-time capacity. On the other hand, residential homes offer positions to those interested in working with vulnerable children, or those with learning difficulties
Depending on the children’s’ age, nursery nursing can involve a number of responsibilities. All nurses will be required to play with the children, aiding their educational and emotional development. In addition, they will need to design and make their own materials to use in class, as well as keeping all the necessary records
It’s not necessary to graduate in order to become a nursery nurse, but professionals do study for the NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing. This course takes around two years to complete full-time, while a part-time course is also available. Full-time childcare employees earn £25,000 on average, with the best-paying providers offering more than £35,000. Anyone want to work with children in the UK must undergo a police background check.

Most Childcare jobs require appropriate qualifications to meet requirements of this role. There are different academic qualifications for this area, including diplomas even for distance learning as an option. Most job placements offer training schemes that allow further qualifications such as BTEC or NVQ Level 3.

It is also recommended to have a CACHE NVQ in childcare because that is a standard qualification for this area. This qualification is awarded by demonstrating suitable skills and knowledge in the place of work.
