Within the advertising and public relations industry, a brand is responsible for working closely with the brand manager in promoting a product or a portfolio of products with a particular brand. A brand supports the brand manager in analyzing market trends and applying these to the promotion, package, price and products of a company’s brand.
A brand must have extensive knowledge of modern marketing strategies and be able to analyse the market to decide how to best promote a brand. In addition, a brand must support the assessment of brand promotion and when required, change marketing techniques for improved product performance according to these evaluations
A degree in marketing is necessary for applicants wanting to work in this position. However, with experience in a similar role, public relations and advertising degrees are also accepted. A master’s degree is not usually a prerequisite, but will assist in the application process. Salaries range from £25,000 to about £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
