- Security guards play a key role in the field of UK crime prevention. Positions are available in all areas of the country, across a range of industry sectors. Those working in this position should be highly-responsible, ensuring the safety of others, as well as the security of clients’ onsite property
  No experience is necessary for some positions, while others prefer some kind of security background. However, an SIA license is a must for those working in the sector. In addition, those working in the construction site security may require a CSCS card, though full training is normally provided for this.
  The SIA license requires applicants to complete a short course in security, a criminal background check and a mental health check. Jobs which provide on-the-job training offer an exemption from the training part of the SIA
  Working as a security guard often involves shift and weekend work, while temporary contracts are also common. Hourly pay can vary, but tends to meet, or just exceed, the national minimum wage.
