HR advisors develop productive relationships with fellow workers and union representatives, as well as liaising with operational managers on all HR-related issues. Job holders work within human resources departments, providing comprehensive support and advice to company managers and employees. They may advise on issues such as organisational change, health, grievance and disciplinary procedures, and employee relations
They oversee the preparation of documentation relating to appointments and terminations and may play an active part in the recruitment process, writing job descriptions and forming part of the interview panel
The work is suitable for those with a sound knowledge of employment law and relevant experience in human resources. Candidates also need to have excellent written and verbal skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team.
A good standard of education is required, and qualifications accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) would also be highly beneficial. Salaries range from £22,000 to £33,000.
