The role of the banker is to assist individuals with loans so they can purchase homes or cars, and to invest their money to make a good return. In other branches of banking, retail bankers help individuals in bank branches or over the phone and internet to manage their money. Private bankers will do the same but will usually focus on wealthier clients. Meanwhile, commercial bankers will provide small businesses with the necessary loans to grow their company
Investment bankers have all kinds of responsibilities, such as mergers and acquisitions, lending privitisations, issuing bonds and overseeing IPOs. The salary is for this role begins at £32,000 and can rise to £150,000 with sizable bonuses. For other banking roles, salaries begin at £15,000 but can rise to over £100,000 with plenty of experience.

Banking is a wide area where qualification requirements depend on institutions and jobs offered. MBA or other specialist postgraduate qualifications are also welcome among candidates because they increase chances to get a better job.
