Employees may need to process customer refunds and receipts. Duties include giving advice and information concerning merchandise and services as well as answering enquiries
Applicants need to have the skills to operate a register system and other essential equipment. Educational requirements include the ability to read, write and count, but no formal qualifications are usually requested. Interpersonal skills are required in order to deal with customers and other staff members.
Applicants should be flexible as working hours may vary and holiday work may be assigned. Typical working hours are 40 hours a week; however, shift schedules can change. Salaries range from £7 to £20 per hour.
