In a hospital setting, the position involves supervising the use of biomedical equipment. Daily work activities will depend on the sector, but always involve a good knowledge of IT and computer software as well as mathematical models, used to develop and test new materials and equipment.

Salaries for graduate trainees start at £22,000 per annum in the NHS, rising to between £28,000 and £38,000 on average and up to £97,000 at consultancy level.
