The ability to use investigative tools and techniques is essential, as is the ability to analyse information and create strategic and tactical procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is knowledge of relevant legal aspects
A degree in criminology or a related field would be considered advantageous, as would experience in working in intelligence. The ability to use computer databases, spreadsheets and word processors is essential to the role. The average salary for an intelligence analyst is £30,000 per annum.
