Sports Coaching

Those working in the field of sports coaching help budding or experienced athletes train themselves to be able to reach their maximum potential. The may work with community teams, school groups, sports-people and teams, as well as encourage young people to engage in sporting activity.
The candidate should be able to identify, evaluate and implement strategic training plans to bring out the best in physical and psychological fitness of the athletes. Stressing the importance of health and safety as well as technically enhancing the way the athlete runs or performs certain exercises is required.
The candidate will be an excellent communicator, a motivator and will help coach the athletes towards their goals. They will also search out sponsoring opportunities and find appropriate competitions for their client. Sports coaching positions require GCSEs, A level sport science, and/or a BTEC/HND in sports coaching, sports studies, physical education, sports management, or movement studies
Candidates can expect a salary starting at £14,200 and rising to £21,200, including bonuses. Depending on the location in the UK and the incumbent’s expertise, the wages may vary.
