    I got my pts card recently and managed to get a temporary job. For the past 6 months I’ve been on and off, and have managed to go from £11 per hour to 13, but I don’t seem to be able to go up from there. Is this normal? It’s getting a bit frustrating, because I’m told I’m valuable, but it doesn’t show in my pay…

      This sounds familiar to me. It seems to happen a fair bit.

      After some time, if you track record shows efficiency and excellent skills, it gets easier to get long term contracts, and eventually to become part of a team that is sent around to different locations and for different contractors. Either way it’s a tough start if you’re trying to build yourself a stable future. Long term it’s ok.
