200k - a realistic pay? Logan Last updated by Brandon: 06-Apr-2018
I just finished my training as computer engineer, and I’m told that my wage expectations are too low. I was under the idea that I could get 50k, but some tell me that I should aim at 150-200k. Is that realistic?

I don’t know where you got that idea but experience tells me that reality is far from those figures. I’d say that after accumulating loads of experience and proving to be extremely valuable you may get above the average 70k pay, but that’s not a standard. On the other hand, as a beginner you should be aware that you’re going to start even lower until you demonstrate your value. I hope this helps.
