Credit Analyst

The role of a credit analyst is to make decisions on a customer’s applications for credit, based on factors such as purpose of application, customer payment history and credit viability. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to research and gather information and to interpret complicated financial information. Good people skills are also a must for working with clients
Most companies are looking for experienced credit analysts. Qualifications that will be advantageous include a good honours degree, with a minimum grade of 2:1. Other qualifications in business studies, management, statistics, mathematics, finance and accounting will help
Being able to manage time well is crucial for this role and most employers will choose candidates based on their level of confidence, reliability and ability to work under pressure. The average salary for this position is in the range of £30,000 to £80,500.
