Electronic

Electronic engineering involves the designing and development of electrical components, circuits and systems. The discipline is extremely diverse as electronics are an important part of most people’s every day life. Examples include robotics, satellite communications, mobile phones, radio and medical instruments
An electronic engineer will often work closely with other technicians in the field of research, design and development as well as testing and manufacturing. They will also work closely with clients and develop schedules and budgets. Graduate engineers commonly fall under two categories. A chartered engineer deals with developing solutions, utilising new and existing technologies. An incorporated engineer deals with the specifics of a particular project
Candidates in this line of work will need strong communication skills and be adept at mathematics, technology and science. Good problem-solving skills are also a must. There are a range of opportunities including jobs in the manufacturing, telecommunications, defence and aerospace industries. The average income is £37,500 per year.
