Executive Assistant

The role of an executive assistant is to provide administrative support at a high level to an executive within an organisation. Main responsibilities of the job holder include research, reporting and arranging meetings and conferences. There is often the need for the post holder to supervise and manage clerical staff.
This person is usually the first point of contact for agencies contacting the executive therefore the candidate is required to have a thorough understanding of the executive’s duties. Sometimes they may be expected to attend meetings on the executive’s behalf. The role also involves implementing and monitoring record-keeping systems
For this role, a high level of clerical experience and the ability to work independently is necessary. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be resourceful and have a high level of written and verbal communication skills. Also required is a thorough understanding of administrative systems and computer applications as well as enthusiasm for the aims and objectives of the organisation. The average salary for this position is £30,000 per year.
