Quality Control
Working in quality control, you must ensure that an organisation’s manufactured products fit the purpose as well and meet legal compliances and client’s expectations. Special activities and programmes are developed in order to meet and maintain quality reliability and standards of manufactured goods
The product’s test results are documented and suggestions are provided for ways to attain the highest product quality possible. Specialised areas include product design, research and development, inventory control, and purchase. The division promotes quality assurance and performance improvement programmes throughout the organisation
Those who take up a management position must define quality measures in conjunction with staff; understand, evaluate and execute procedures and tests properly, investigate the product modifications and supervise technical teams while they carry out tests and checks. It is also important to possess good organising, problem-solving and planning skills, and have good numerical and statistical ability
The qualifications required to work in quality control vary depending on the level of the job. For a management role, a Bachelors degree in manufacturing and processing will almost certainly be necessary. Salaries normally start at around £20,000.
