Service Manager

The role of a service manager varies widely between companies but many of the duties and responsibilities of this role are generic across the board. Many job holders in this area are responsible for the general administration, human resources and statutory responsibilities of a company in order to ensure that the company continues to function successfully.
The service manager usually reports directly to the managing director of the organisation and relays their orders to the management team. Their main responsibilities of the post holder include ensuring that high levels of staff satisfaction are achieved by working closely with human resources, working with the executive management team to create strategic planning processes, monitoring the performance and functionality of the business, and implementing a communications strategy.
The job holder is expected to pay close attention to detail and to have excellent communication and leadership skills. The minimum qualification for this job is a bachelor’s degree in business, management or a related field.
The average salary for this role is around £30,000 per annum; however, salaries vary considerably between organisations and sectors.
