Quality Maintenance Technician

A quality maintenance technician performs various repair functions and is an asset to any manufacturing team. The job holder may work as part of a team or alone, taking on important repair jobs which would have the potential to cripple a company if left unattended. Generally workers will learn the skills on-site, often joining the workforce upon leaving high school
The main duties will be to troubleshoot systems which are malfunctioning within the site where the technician works. It could be something as little as an electrical socket or something as big as constructing and repairing parts of buildings
If not taking care of immediate problems within the workplace, the technician may carry out routine checks of the vicinity. This includes inspecting machines regularly, analysing electrical systems to make sure that power drains are not occurring, and checking the building’s physical condition
Quality maintenance technicians are in charge of ordering, storing and cataloging replacement parts which the business keeps on hand, especially when working for a smaller firms. In a larger business, the responsibility may be that of the supervisor or another technician. In the UK, the average salary for the role is £31,787.
