Nanny job description

Post Job

Nannies provide families with an excellent opportunity to get some much-needed help with childcare, as well as employ someone who can manage light housekeeping duties. This service is invaluable to modern families with two working parents.
Childcare responsibilities depend on the children’s ages, but they may include helping the children get ready, taking them to school and back, as well as preparing any snacks or drinks
Families looking for a nanny usually require at least one year of verifiable childcare experience, as well as a CRB check and a clean driving licence. There is little chance of career progression, with much of the work offered by agencies, rather than directly by the families
However, experience in this line of work can be most useful for those pursuing a career in primary education, or those who would like to start their own childcare business. Full-time nannies earn around £23,000 across the UK on average, with the best salaries in London and the southeast.
