  Is a housing officer the person to deal with disputes among neighbours? I’ve heard something on those lines but I though you basically dealt with maintenance issues.

    No way, as a housing officer you deal with the state and upkeep of the property, you evaluate the situation of people asking for accommodation, set the rent, payment follow ups, direct people where they can get info on benefits and so on, deal with anti-social behaviour, and more, much more!
