Companies hire human resources officers to direct and support their employees, managers, and supervisors in employment and personnel policies. These positions are also known as HR officers. Management systems, employee issues, recruitment, and orientation are just some of the issues human resources officers handle on a regular basis
One of the most difficult tasks a human resources officer must perform is balancing the needs of both management and employees. These two groups often have opposite needs and requirements. Retirement plans, employment laws, and other benefits are the main concerns of company employees. Supervisors, on the other hand, are most concerned with information about salaries and discipline
Human resource officers must also handle the orientation of all new employees and maintain communication between all other company departments. These individuals must remain updated on compliance, employment, and corporate policies. Previous experience or studies in psychology, social administration, business, or human resources management can be beneficial.
Inexperienced human resource officers earn between £22,000 and £25,000 at their first jobs, while senior level employees can earn more than £80,000 per year.

  • HR and psychology Joy

I am very interested in the HR field, and have a degree in psychology. Does anybody know of a right course I could take to enter the field?

    • Lila:

To get a career in HR you can study a degree in human resources or business administration. But the fact is that often times companies look for psychologists to fill in their HR positions. Especially industrial-organizational psychology.
