  • British/Italian Last updated by Elena: 20-Feb-2017

I’m half Italian half British. I was born in Italy to an English father and an Italian mother, but left at a very early age and have grown up in the UK. I trained as a Social Media/Community Manager and need to complement my salary with some part time. I’m considering teaching Italian, as I’m a native speaker and also took Italian lessons while at uni. Can I teach in language schools if I don’t have specific training?

    • If you’re looking to work for a language school you do. There are plenty of schools that offer very good courses, and if you’re a native speaker you shouldn’t have much of a problem. Also, if you’ve trained as Sm manager, you’ve probably got some insight into psychology, which is also an important issue when it comes to teaching.

If you could choose a dream job whether it be in your current field or something else what would it be?

    • I am an italian lady and I retired from school last year. My curriculum includes English teaching both to Italian scuola media and high school
My dream is to teach Italian language or Italian literature in a British college or school of languages. It is a priority for me to have a party time job that means to have the lessons concentrated in two or three months during the school year

    • I am a retired teacher the same as Maria. I could say I have the same curriculum : I used to teach English both in Italy and abroad. Now I would like to teach Italian as a second or foreign language.
