Forum Sewing Machinist in Lancashire

  • Experience Lila

I've been making my own home linen and some of my own clothing for years. I love sewing and I'm good at it. I'd like to be able to work for a company but I'm not sure I stand a chance if I've no proven experience. Can someone advise, please?

    • Mini:

There really aren't any specific requirements other than being able to use a sewing machine skillfully, and, sometimes, reading patterns. Having good eyesight is not a requirement but it is a logical must. If you have sewing skills and or some training in sewing machine skills or knowledge about textiles you have a head-start and are in a better position when applying for a job.

      • Dodo:

I have always been very good at sewing but never took any formal training and I've never found it to be a handicap.
