Lettings Negotiator

This entry-level role has an important function within the sales and lettings business. The individual duties of a lettings negotiator vary from office to office, but generally involve the promotion of properties for sale or let, handling transactions and interacting with colleagues, buyers and sellers
Much of the work is spent travelling to and from properties, either to provide viewings for clients, to make checks on furniture and fittings or to assess newly acquired properties. There is also regular contact with the property management team to ensure a client’s needs are fully met and that a mutually agreeable deal is reached
The job requires skilled and effective communicators with good organisational and negotiation skills. It is also important to be a good team player, as the work involves daily team meetings, in which sales targets are set and any necessary issues raised. Owing to the nature of the work, a driving licence is also an essential requirement. Entry is usually by joining a graduate training scheme, and salaries are between £10,000 and £40,000, plus commission.
