A porter is responsible for seeing that guests’ luggage is tended to when checking in or checking out. A night porter is responsible for these duties during the night shifts, while others mostly work during the daytime. Being an entry level position within the hotel industry, salaries are usually in the low range. On average, hotels generally pay per hour for this position. A yearly salary generally reaches from £7,000 to £10,000. This position doesn’t require any degree or accreditation, although having background experience in hospitality will surely assist applicants.
