Care Manager

The job of care manager assumes the responsibility for assessing, analyzing, and ultimately providing suggestions on appropriate care for geriatric patients in need. In general, a person in this position works with patients in their own homes rather than in hospitals or care facilities. As a result, the candidate will work closely with patients and their family members to provide key assessments and programmes for the best health care practices
In addition to working in patients’ homes, care managers also oversee the operation of nursing homes, clinics, and various other health care establishments. The main skills involved include excellent people skills, strong written and verbal communication, an outstanding knowledge of local services and facilities, health assessment abilities and experience in report writing.
Persons applying for the position of care manager should have a degree or advanced degree in social work, nursing or related fields. Previous experience is valued quite highly throughout the United Kingdom. Applicants can also choose from a host of certifications and accreditations. The basic salary for the vocation is about £30,000 per annum.
