Key Account Manager

Key account managers are the vital link between clients and their companies. They have the job of assessing a client’s requirements and finding effective ways of fulfilling their business needs.
The work may be carried out in a team or in collaboration with other colleagues. It may involve planning and managing projects and, through research into current trends, seeking out business opportunities that may be of interest to existing customers. The role requires the ability to give business-related advice and to keep colleagues up to date with the latest sales information
Those working in this field normally work during standard business hours, although it may sometimes be necessary to put in extra hours at weekends or in the evenings. The work predominantly takes place in an office but may occasionally require travel, either within the UK or overseas. The minimum academic requirement is usually a Bachelors degree in business management, marketing or economics, plus at least three to five years’ experience in a marketing or sales role. Salaries are between £30,000 and £47,000.
