Forum Part Time Student

  • part-time Maryline

I’d like to find a part time job during the summer that I could continue doing once my classes start again in autumn. Can somebody advice?

    • Tracey:

There are many things you can do. It’ll depend on your interests and abilities.

    • Maryline:

To tell you the truth I’m not sure what I’d like to do. I’m good at writing and also with animals. I’m sociable and I think I have a good sense of humour.

      • Tracey:

Easy, there are many things you could do if you put your mind to it. Maybe walking dogs or working in a shop where being good with people is a plus, maybe even writing for a local magazine

        • Jim:

Walking dogs is a great job. I’ve done it a couple of times and it’s a doddle. If you like animals, you enjoy the walks in the company, plus you get a little exercise and at the same time, when the dog is quiet you get a chance to think and also to organise yourself. I personally found that I was more organised when I walked dogs because I simply dedicated time to think, as under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have stopped to programme my week!

          • Eunice:

Receptionist jobs can also be very interesting if you like a challenge.

If someone doesn't get an offer from university, what can be done in the gap year?
