Duty Manager

To keep businesses like hotels and resorts running smoothly and securely, a duty manager is kept at the helm. A person in this position typically work in service industries such as restaurants, hotels, fitness clubs and spas. These highly visible managers are responsible for both the general management as well as the security of the establishment
Duty managers have to be present and in the front of the house when on duty. This means they need to be outgoing and confident, have excellent interpersonal skills and natural leadership abilities. The job holder ensures there are no problems with either customers or employees, often by managing crises before they escalate
These vital problem solvers usually hold a Bachelors degree in business administration or management, or an MBA. Pervious experience in management and relevant qualifications are also important, however, and can be enough on their own.
A busy schedule is part of this demanding job. Most managers work more than 40 hours a week. Salaries average at around £25,000 a year, but bonuses are a common part of the pay packages.
